Our Team

Evidence with Heart
Many providers operate as a collection of solo practitioners sharing a logo but working alone.

At Outcomes Lab, we operate differently. You are not hiring a single clinician; you are engaging a collaborative unit. We believe that complex presentations require collective wisdom.
That is why our practice is founded and led by a Clinical Neuropsychologist, ensuring high-level clinical governance, rigorous supervision, and a "Right Fit" intake process for every single referral.
A Multidisciplinary Team Led by Clinical Excellence
Meet The Director
Julian Vilsten is the Founder and Managing Director of Outcomes Lab, a Clinical Neuropsychologist, and a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner. With over 15 years of experience in mental health and close to a decade in the NDIS space, he is passionate about fostering meaningful quality-of-life improvements for individuals with complex neurological, cognitive, and behavioural needs.

Julian holds a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology and a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience (Honours), with endorsement as a Clinical Neuropsychologist through AHPRA and Board-approved supervisor status.

He has extensive experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, acquired brain injuries, neurological disorders, and complex behavioural presentations, including dual diagnoses and trauma histories. His neuropsychological training gives him a distinctive clinical lens, allowing him to understand how a person's brain functions and translate that into behaviour support that works with the individual, not against them.

Julian founded Outcomes Lab with the belief that too many NDIS participants receive generic support from under-supervised practitioners, particularly those with complex or overlapping presentations. Every referral is clinically reviewed to ensure the right practitioner match, and Julian personally leads and mentors the clinical team. The approach is strictly neuroaffirming and person-centred, integrating the latest research with real-world application.

Julian believes in holistic support that incorporates families, support networks, and the broader system to create sustainable, meaningful change. He continues to advocate for higher clinical standards in NDIS service delivery and for reducing the gap between what participants need and what they actually receive.

1. Collaboration Over Isolation
Working alone often leads to burnout and poor outcomes. At Outcomes Lab, our clinicians engage in ongoing collaboration. If a case becomes complex, the team comes together to solve it. You get the benefit of multiple clinical perspectives working together.
2. Clinical Intake Review
We do not accept every referral. We review every case as a team to ensure we have the specific clinical depth to manage the risk. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you upfront.

3. Supported Clinicians
We select our team carefully, hiring for both skill and integrity. Once they are on board, we prioritise their support and supervision. We invest in our team so they can invest in the people they support.
