NDIS Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support is an NDIS-funded approach that reduces behaviours of concern by understanding what they communicate, then changing the environment and building skills so the behaviours are no longer needed. It's funded under the NDIS Capacity Building budget and focuses on quality of life, not just behaviour reduction.

Positive Behaviour Support
Improving Quality of Life
The NDIS system is full of generic plans.
You might have seen them: jargon-heavy documents that sit in a drawer and don't change a thing. But a plan is useless if it doesn't stand up to the reality of daily life.

When a person presents with challenging behaviour, we look beyond the surface to understand the function behind the action. At Outcomes Lab, our philosophy is simple: we don’t just try to stop a behaviour; we solve the unmet needs driving it.

We Focus on What Matters
Quality of Life
We aim to increase choice, control, and social connection.
Skill Building
We teach communication and coping skills to replace the need for behaviours of concern.
Environmental Adaptation
Sometimes you don't need to change the person. You need to change the setting.
Safety
We work to reduce restrictive practices safely and ethically.
How We Work
Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA)
We don't guess. We observe, collect data, and analyse the "why" behind the behaviour. We look at the environment, the triggers, and the unmet needs driving the actions.

Implementation & Training
We provide hands-on coaching for you and your support network. We check that the strategies make sense to the people using them. If a strategy isn't working, we change it.
Behaviour Support Plans
We write NDIS-compliant plans, but we write them for people, not just auditors. Our plans are practical guides. We focus on realistic strategies that support workers and families can actually use
Restrictive Practice Review
If restraints are currently in use we ensure they are authorised and reported correctly. But our main job is to plan their exit. We aim to fade these practices out as the person builds the skills to stay safe without them.
The Outcomes Lab Difference
Specific expertise for complex needs
Complex behaviour often stems from complex neurology. Because we are founded by a Clinical Neuropsychologist, our team doesn't work in silos. We review complex cases (like ABI or dual diagnosis) with a multidisciplinary lens to ensure our approach fits the person's cognitive profile.

We don't treat participants as "slots" to be filled. We use a Director-Led intake process to match the participant with the right practitioner. If you have high-risk needs, we match you with a clinician who has the specific experience to handle them.
